Now, I want to delete my files in ftp to restart my installation but I cannot delete them. Antwoord: 150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for file list. I check my ftp files and the files are complete. Instead of going to the sites front end It downloads an index.php file. Now, I did the installation using akeeba and the last part which shows a modal which displays a button "View your sites front end". First, I uploaded kickstart.php and the akeeba file for the website and it is successful. I'm trying to upload my joomla website to ftp using akeeba back up. I don't know if its because of the hosting server or my configuration in joomla. So I guess it is not an issue with TC.Its been a day I'm facing this problem. Make sure permissions on that entire folder were correct: sudo chmod -R 755 /var/app/current. In this case the server administrator needs to log in using an SSH client and, probably as root, manually adjust the permissions and file ownership. To allow user ec2-user (Amazon AWS) write access to the public web directory (/var/app/current), enter this command via Putty or Terminal, as the root user sudo: sudo chown -R ec2-user /var/app/current. If the FTP server and Webserver run under different user accounts, permissions will be all wonky. I also tried FileZilla, with similar results. Re: 550 Permission Denied - can't do anything. (btw, eveything happened on 8.52, but 9.0 didn't help. Like accidentally revoking the ftp access to the siteroot.ĭo you have _any_ idea on what it may have been ? and how to fix it ? I have a feeling that the problem is related to something I did in TC. I have a dir called PHP that has permissions of 775 with owner/group of caddy:caddy and all files and subdirectories are exactly the same, 775 and caddy:caddy. No known changes in permissions for the ftp users, neither. can't delete a file due to permissions, both file and parent dir are 775 Ask Question Asked 1 year, 8 months ago Modified 1 year, 8 months ago Viewed 382 times 0 I am fairly green on Linux. I am also pretty sure that no permissions on the siteroot level have been changed on the Plesk/OS level. I am able to navigate to any of the subsites manually (by entering cd /subsite in the TC command line), and I am able to navigate the subsite normally. I am pretty sure that the action was not complex - a single click, or key press. The ftp communication log shown by TC indicates the Error 550 - Permission Denied. I must have pressed / clicked on something - and since then I am unable to see the siteroot content. I was working normally, browsing files and directories, also deleting single files. A few days ago - something strange happened. Everything worked fine in TC - in particular I was able to see the contents of the siteroot.ģ. I have an ftp user that until recently had had access to siteroot and all of the subsites. I am running a site, based on Plesk if this matters. I have an issue that I don't fully understand.ġ. What is a Permission denied error in FTP, and what does it look like Permission denied errors occur when you dont have the required permissions to make.
